Callum Makes English Schools

Congratulations to Callum Taylor who has been selected to represent Hampshire Schools in Javelin at the English Schools Track and Field Championships.  Callum came second in the Schools Inter Counties competiton held at Crawley with a very impressive throw of 45.83m, smashing his PB and his own Club Record by almost three and a half metres.

We wish Callum every success at these Championships which this year will bed held in Birmingham.

Callum Extends His Club Record

Callum Taylor extended his own Club Record for U15B Javlein with a throw of 42.39m at the Hampshire Schools Championships in Basingstoke, Callum also won the event.  Personal bests were also recorded by Kieran Flynn (TJ 11:59), James Kelly (DT 31.0) and two PBs from Ewan Maxwell (SP 11.01, DT 26.72).  There were also good performances from Ruby Dale in the 100m and Amber Faull in the 1500m.

Double Winners

A great result last Sunday at the SAL where we finished in second place, just ahead of host club Horsham.  Congratulations to Josh Kelly and Elise Lovell who won the Man/Woman of the Match Award.  Details of this match will be posted on the RESULTS page.

Congratulations to our younger athletes who competed in the YDL match at Winchester, for many this was their first taste of competition.  Congratulations to Daniel Mills who broke the Under 13 boys Club Record for Shot and to Callum Taylor who extended his own Club Record for U15 boys Javelin.  Well done to Chloe Robertson for a very impressive debut in the 800m, a well executed race.  Details of this match will be posted on the RESULTS page.

IAAF World Combined Events Championships

Very well done to Elise who competed in the IAAF World Combined Events Championships this weekend. The competition took place in Florence, Italy and Elise finished in 15th place overall with a new PB points score of 5400 points. Elise also gained a PB in the High Jump (1.66) as well as a Grade 1 performance in the Long Jump (6.00). You have done us proud Elise, well done.

In addition Elise broke Hannah Lloyds 2000 Club Record for 100mH and also broke Amanda Weedons long standing Long Jump Club Record set in 1981. She also set a new Club Record for the Heptathlon.
